Facebook Rolling Out Pages to Watch Feature

Though they’ve been piloting it for a few months now, more Admins of Facebook Pages are starting to see the ‘Pages to Watch’ feature in their admin panel. Facebook say this helps to ‘track the progress on any Pages you want to watch. You’ll see how many likes they get and receive tips on how to keep up.’ When you add up to 5 other companies, you can see how you compare when it comes to Facebook performance.
You can see that it does this by offering an at-a-glance chart of the numbers of Likes those pages have. The usefulness of this depends, of course, on your objectives. While it’s a quick and easy reference, we would advise signing into Facebook as your Page and liking competitor’s pages too. That way, you can easily track updates, interactions and conversations those pages are having from the comfort of your News Feed.
If secrecy is something of a concern to your business, note that when you Watch a page, they will be notified that ‘a page’ has started watching them .
We’ll keep you posted on any updates to this feature, but for now, it’s a nice touch from Facebook to tap into the wider business practice of competitor analysis. Let us know how you get on!
