A Refreshed Twitter.com

Twitter announced yesterday evening that they’re in the process of rolling out a “refreshed Twitter.com” with the main aim being to replicate the feel of its popular mobile applications to provide a familiar multi-platform interface any user would feel comfortable using.
The main changes can be seen within the designs navigation, which sees the header being inverted for a much lighter and brighter feel whilst incorporating some of the previously app specific icons to give a more synced and consistent feel, regardless of the device being used to access the service.

What are your thoughts?
Do you like the changes which have been made to the web interface? Do you think Twitter is making a good decision to emulate its applications through the web or should Twitter.com stand by itself and try being something more than what the apps offer?
