You read that correctly, The Zuckerberg has announced that the platform will be introducing a dislike feature, to act as an exact opposite of the Like functionality built into the core of the social network Facebook.
Mark has claimed that users aren’t looking for an ‘ability to down vote other peoples posts’ but rather express ’empathy’. Referencing the current worldwide refugee crisis, when users share topical content it’s not necessarily appropriate to like this content, so this will allow users to express that they relate to it.
However it ends up being used in practise, the dislike or thumbs down button will be joining the likes of YouTube & Reddit which feature such functionality.
It’s been revealed that the functionality is close to being launched, so we’ll have further updates as soon as we’ve had our hands on it.
