Bring Snapchat to WordPress

The Snapchat Snapcode Widget is a cracking little plugin which provides an incredibly useful function to your WordPress website. Rather simply, the plugin creates a sidebar widget, allowing you to insert your Snapchat username. In turn this automatically converts into a Snapchat Snapcode allowing other Snapchat user to scan this and add your account.
Snapcodes are essentially graphical identifiers very similar to QR codes, which allow users to easily add each other by simply holding their camera over the graphic. A great and simple way to get in front of millennials, companies can now add this code and get in front of a targeted audience.
Since its launch in 2011, Snapchat has risen to become one of the major players when it comes to social media. Of it’s 100million active daily users, over 65% of these contribute content to the platform every day, with a whopping 6million video views a day, and 8,796 photos shared via the app per second. Particularly popular with younger demoraphics, the platform has recently enabled sponsored and location based feeds as part of it’s offering, and more and more brands are joining the platform to connect to customers every day. It’s an easy, simple and quick way of contributing brand message and if you want to grab your audience’s attention, it’s a much less convoluted arena than Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter so we’d definitely recommend jumping on board.
A really simple plugin I’m sure you’ll agree. Let us know if you come across anything which we should give a test run, or, if you need a hand putting together a Snapchat strategy for your business, give us a call.
